The Bid and a Beer for Brax fundraiser inundated with donations and gifts

Horsham's 5 year old Braxton Williams has the community's support, more than the communities support - the love, gifts and donations that have been pushed Brax's families way have been unstoppable ..

Sundays event 'Beers and a bid for Brax' held at the Vic in Horsham - has well over ONE HUNDRED items donated by local businesses and residents.

Sara Lee - Brax's Mum, Partner Jayden Clugston and Dad Josh Williams have been blown away by the support from the Wimmera community.

Diagnosed with a brain tumor at the start of the year.. Brax and his families world was turned upside down with treatment, appointments and constant traveling to Melbourne.

Brax's Mum Sarah Lee says the journey has been difficult .. but the support from family, friends and the local community has has helped them through.

Moving to Melbourne to keep Brax close to hospital and treatment has been hard but Ms Lee said the support from home and in people from the hospital have helped get them through.

BRAX GOES TO SCHOOL - yesterday young Brax had his first day at school in Melbourne, he's been busting to go said Sarah - "I've never seen a kid more excited to go to school"..speaking with Ms Lee last night after Braxs first couple of hours Ms Lee said "He did Vietnamese and art and was super excited to go back tomorrow" continuing on she said "I buckled as soon as he left, he said Bye Mum - seeya when I get back - and off he went".

Whilst unable to make this weekends fundraiser Ms Lee is overwhelmed by the support and wants everyone attending to help her see whats happening by tagging all photos taken and shared on social media with #bandb4brax.

Ms Lee started the instagram account so her and Brax can see the activities from the day - so if you are heading to the Vic Sunday hash tag away.

Wes Davidson real estates Rob Dolan will be auctioning the items on sunday and has credited the Vic Hotel and of course WACK and the committee behind the fundraiser for doing so much work. Mr Dolan although very humble was initially the man who came up with the idea for a fundraiser after receiving a call from Ms Lee asking him to sell her house, Mr Dolan with tears in his eyes after hearing the story went back to his Boss Wes Davidson and told him Sarah's story to which Wes told him "Do what you have to do" and the house was sold without charge and also Brown and Proudfoot waived conveyancing fees once approached by Rob.

Mr Dolan had Sarahs house painted in preparation for sale with Mark James, Matt Cross, Rod and Dennis Peachey donating their time and painting the house free of charge.


There are over ONE HUNDRED AUCTION ITEMS with MR Dolan saying some have been grouped together as there has been so many donations made.

Former resident Jarrod Berry donated an indigenous signed Brisbane Guernsey and a signed kids basketball has come from NBA player Matt Dellavedova.

Aceradio have popped in a couple of sets of medallion club tickets and accommodation packages at the Parkview..and the Royal Melbourne gold club donating tickets to the presidents cup.

Some other items include a signed 2017 Collingwood Guernsey donated by Simpsons the labour hire specialists...a $100 fuel voucher from the Haven general store, a Swarovski necklace from Mackays leading edge jewelers, a leather RM Williams belt from Lattanzio's and many other businesses like Kawaii kids, Robertson's, Smallaire, Sarah Goode Photography and so many more generous businesses from the Wimmera and beyond.
